Just came across this post. I agree that there is certain amount of 'Click bait' and generalizations. However, there is real problem in the lack of engineering discipline when it comes to developing code in the real world/companies/startups/etc. As the article pointed out this leads to technical debt and code that is too fragile to be extended. It drives me nuts as professional programmer, and yes I do have CS degree
